Collection of Sankranthi or Pongal Festival Recipes
Sankranti is a festival that signifies the beginning of the harvest season for the farmers in India. In Andhra and Telangana, it is also called ‘Makara Sankranti’. It is celebrated primarily in the states of Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Maharashtra and few other states. In Tamilnadu, this festival is called Pongal.
In Andhra pradesh & Telangana, we call it “pedda panduga” which means the big festival. It is generally a three day festival. Each day has its own significance.
• The first day being the bhogi panduga
• Second day Sankranti and
• The third day is Kanuma.
Family gatherings and delicious food are apart of the festival celebrations. Sharing my collection of recipes which can be made for Sankranti.
