A twist to the Indian dessert, Apple halwa is sweet, tangy and perfect for your sweet teeth. Want a quick dessert, apple halwa to the rescue.
Hey guys!!!!
I, like my papa, have a sweet tooth. I don’t deny it. Everyday after lunch or dinner, I need something sweet to eat. Be it anything. Chocolates, sweets, desserts or sugar itself. My taste buds need them.
Apple halwa has been on my mind since a very long time. One day, when I visited my mom, we started to think over the dinner menu. And mumma suggested to make apple halwa which I have been thinking about since a long time.
Apple halwa makes for a quick dessert on the go. It has a sweet and slightly tangy flavour. To make apple halwa, use fresh apples. Blend the apples just before sauteing. To add flavour to this halwa, add cinnamon and cardamom powder. I can’t do apple desserts without cinnamon. It is so comforting. Cinnamon gives out a sweet aroma to the halwa.
Let’s begin with the recipe!
Wash and peel the apples.
Cut them into pieces and blend them in a mixer.
Heat some ghee in a pan.
Pour the apple puree in it and let it cook till all the water evaporates. It took me around 10-15 minutes.
Then add sugar and mix.
Also add cinnamon powder, nutmeg powder and cardamom powder and mix.
After adding sugar, the halwa will leave some water. Let it evaporate for some time.
Garnish with some sliced almonds and serve warm.
