Beautiful Blue Kitchen Cabinets & Islands You’ll Love

Have you seen all the gorgeous blue kitchens popping up over on Pinterest lately?  While I still love a classic, all-white kitchen, I have to say I’m crazy about blue kitchen cabinets.  A touch of blue adds a classic, yet modern, look to every space–but I think it looks especially beautiful in the kitchen.

When we remodeled our kitchen and took it from dark and drab to light and bright, I knew I wanted to incorporate the color blue. Initially, I planned to paint all the lower cabinets blue, but I eventually opted to go with a blue kitchen island (Sherwin Williams Distance) and all white cabinets.

After white, blue is the most popular kitchen color. Since it’s timeless, blue is a safe way to add color to your kitchen because it will never go out of style.

There’s no doubt that blue kitchens are trending, and if you’re looking for the best blue to paint kitchen cabinets, I’ve got plenty of ideas for how to add blue to your kitchen.

If you love dark blue cabinets, Hale Navy, HC-154 by Benjamin Moore, is a timeless shade of navy blue loved by interior designers for its perfect mix of warm and cool undertones.  However, lighter shades of blue are becoming increasingly popular, as you’ll see as you scroll through below.

Before you paint, I suggest testing out several shades of blue in your kitchen (using painted pieces of poster board or cardboard taped to the cabinets) to see how they look throughout the day.

Beautiful Blue Kitchen Cabinet Ideas & Inspiration

Whether you’re into all-blue kitchens, a two-tone mix of white and blue cabinets, or simply a few blue accents, these gorgeous blue kitchens will give you plenty of ideas and inspiration for your space. I hope you love them as much as I do! Where possible, I’ve included the blue cabinet paint color along with the photo and will update this post as I receive new information.

Navy Blue Kitchens for a Clean, Classic Look

Dark navy blue kitchen cabinets are a classic look that will never go out of style.  Since navy pairs so beautifully with brass, chrome, or silver, it allows you to mix metals with confidence.

Navy is actually considered a neutral; since it works well with every other color, it gives you lots of latitude when it comes to choosing decor and finishes for your kitchen.

I love the fresh feeling of this beautiful kitchen, with its rich navy cabinets, herringbone wood flooring, shiplap ceiling, and rustic wood beams.  From Kate Lester Interiors.  Here’s a similar pendant light.
