Burfi Cheesecake Jars are no-bake, delectable, and classic dessert or sweet with layers of cheesecake, mango barfi chunks, and a buttery crust using your favorite biscuits. Every single bite is packed with 3 layers which will literally melt in your mouth. This is like heaven in a jar!!!

These cheesecake jars take less than 30 minutes to prepare. If you are looking for a crowd winner and at the same time a quick and easy dessert recipe then cheesecake jars are for you.  Be creative in adding flavors, toppings or combining them with sweets of your choice to make a pretty dessert like this one.

I have to say thanks to all my food blogger friends, dessert and pastry shops, restaurants, and social media for flooding us with so many creative recipe ideas all the time.

I was never a sweet or mithai lover until I got married. So my love for all desserts started only in the United States with cakes, donuts, cheesecake, churros, pies, and on the other hand my husband has always been a big fan of burfis (kaju katli, 7 cup barfi, etc.), Gulab Jamun, Rasmalai, boondi laddu, jalebi — oh wait!! he loves almost all Indian sweets.

We always have debates on what tastes better or which is easy to cook. It is very tough to decide. And with mangoes in season, my husband wanted a good mango barfi or laddu. However, being a die-hard fan of mango cheesecake from The Cheesecake factory – I wanted to bake a mango cheesecake.

So we decided to combine the two and make a fusion dessert and ended up with these simple and beautiful cheesecake jars.

This no-bake cheesecake recipe is eggless, super simple and you can combine it with any Indian sweet or mithai to make cheesecake jars.

Some of my favorite cheesecake in mason jars that I have tried at home and some from pastry shops include :
  • Gulab Jamun Cheescake Jars
  • Carrot Halwa or Gajar Halwa Cheesecake Jars
  • Rasgulla Cheesecake Jars
  • Rasmalai Cheesecake Jars
  • Motichoor Ladoo Cheesecake Jars
  • Boondi Laddu Cheesecake Jars
  • Jalebi Cheesecake Jars
  • Carrot Burfi Cheesecake Jars

You can be creative and add any mithai or sweets of your choice

And if you have a family filled with foodies like mine, during special occasions or festivals like anniversary, birthdays, Diwali, and Holi when your house is filled with desserts and sweets you can combine all the sweets or mithai to make mithai cheesecake jars or Indian dessert in cheesecake jars 🙂

Cheesecake Jars ideas or options

But the options do not stop here, if you love any dessert or have sweet tooth, then you can make

  • Strawberry Cheesecake Jars
  • Cookies and Cream Cheesecake Jars
  • Chocolate chip cookies Cheesecake Jars
  • Mango cheesecake Jars
  • Brownie cheesecake Jars
  • Kitkat cheesecake Jars
  • Twix Cheesecake Jars
  • Oreo Cheesecake Jars

or simply top the crust and cheesecake filling with any of these – strawberries, raspberry or blueberry sauce, cherry pie filling, chocolate ganache, salted caramel, Nutella, coffee caramel or pumpkin pie filling and garnish with fresh fruits, nuts, coconut, sprinkles, rose petals, saffron (kesar), etc.

Since these individual portions are portable, travel well, these are some of the best desserts to try during summer parties, BBQ, potlucks, picnics, tailgating events, or any gathering.

Ingredients for No-Bake Burfi Cheesecake Jars

For the crust
15 Biscuits (Marie or Parle G ) or 8 Graham crackers – use your favorite
2 tbsp Butter or Ghee, melted

For the Cheesecake Layer
3/4 cup Heavy cream or whipping cream
8 oz or 1 block of cream cheese, softened to room temperature
1/2 cup powdered sugar or icing sugar or confectioner’s sugar
2 tbsp Sour cream or Yogurt
1 tsp Vanilla extract (optional)

8 Mango burfi, Carrot Burfi or any burfi of your choice (homemade or store-bought) Check tips for substitutes.

Steps to prepare No Bake Burfi Cheesecake Jars
  • Have your jars ready to go. Four, or 6, or 8 depending on the size of the jars. If you are serving it for a birthday or Diwali party for a larger crowd and just want your guests to be introduced to fusion desserts, then you can also serve it in shot glasses.

Prepare the crust first

  • Pulse the biscuits into fine crumbs in your mixer or food processor. To this add 2 tbsp of melted butter and mix well. The mixture will resemble wet sand.
  • Spoon a generous amount, say 2 tbsp, of this mixture into each jar, and using the back of a spoon press it gently. Keep this aside.

Prepare the Cheesecake filling

  • Using a stand mixer with a whisk attachment or using a hand mixer, whip the cold cream on medium-high speed for 3-4 minutes till stiff peaks are formed. Keep this aside or in the refrigerator till you are ready to use.
  • In a small bowl crumble or cut the burfis into small chunks. Keep this aside.
  • In another bowl, using the same hand mixer or stand mixer, beat cream cheese, sugar, yogurt, and vanilla extract on high speed until smooth and creamy.
  • Start folding whipped cream into this cream cheese mixture in parts until all combined. You may have to fold it a couple of times. Make sure you do it slowly so that the whipped cream doesn’t deflate.
  • Using a piping bag or spoon, add the cheesecake mixture on top of the crust – halfway through the jar. Add some burfi chunks.  Top with another layer of cheesecake filling and finally top it with a burfi slice and garnish of your choice.

How to serve No-Bake Cheesecake Jars :

Always use wide-mouthed jars for such recipes so you can easily add each layer.

  • Use any mason glass jars of desired size ( 4oz, 6 oz, or 8 oz)
  • For small individual servings, you can serve it in shot glasses.
  • Feel free to use even a trifle bowl or any dessert cups or bowls.
Is no-bake cheesecake better than baked cheesecake?

In baked cheesecake you add eggs, always worried if you have whipped the egg as needed, and then bake in the water bath and finally chill it in the fridge.

With no-bake cheesecake, you are not adding any eggs, plus no baking is required. There is no way you can go wrong with this dessert.

The texture of both desserts is also completely different. This no-bake version is more soft and close to mousse-like texture. Anyways both taste delicious in their own way.

Can I store leftover cheesecake?

Any leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.
