Favorite Sweet Treat

Summer is all about sweet treats, whether they be fruit, cocktails or even a yummy dessert. I found a delectable recipe for a Skillet Berry Cobbler from The Novice Chef. It is a quick and yummy recipe that looks so easy to make. Emma and I will definitely be making this berry cobbler before summer ends. If you’d like to access the recipe, click here.

Favorite Ottomans

Ottomans have to be one of my favorite pieces of furniture.  They provide immediate style, texture and color to every space and then of course there is the all important comfort factor.  With so many ranges in designs and styles it’s easy to find something to compliment or contrast with every space. What I love most about ottomans is their multifunctional element.  Place a large tray on top and your ottoman suddenly becomes a coffee table. My ottoman always has a large tray that’s layered with books, candles, fresh flowers and other home decor items. It’s amazing how much flexibility they provide.
Whenever I ask anyone which they prefer in the popular ottoman vs coffee table debate…
the ottoman always wins.

Favorite Summer Setup

When I think of Summer, I think of picnics. Not the traditional type of picnic, with ants marching on your tablecloth, but the elegant-style picnic. Pool-side, colorful florals and food served with glassware on a beautiful coffee table. Why is it that eating somewhere other than a formal table makes you feel like it’s a fun affair? Any excuse to eat in a group setting, casual or elegant, that is decorated especially for the occasion always feels more special.
I can’t wait until my backyard is complete so that I can host gorgeous picnics like this from Amanda Gluck of Fashionable Hostess. Amanda is queen of entertaining and tablescapes is her specialty. I have learned so much from her beautiful posts… If you’d like to see more of Amanda’s beautiful summer spread, click here.

Who doesn’t have a favorite pair of jeans… or two… or three?  I don’t care how many jeans I have, I can never seem to have too many. Lol My favorite places to shop for jeans on sale are Nordstrom, Macy’s, ASOS, ShopBop, J.Crew, and Banana Republic. While I favor the skinny jean I also love a good boyfriend cut on certain occasions. I try to never buy jeans at full price because I know that you can eventually find them on sale or find a great lookalike in the sale section. When it comes to my favorite colors, I love the classic blue jeans with white coming in a close second.. but then again, other colors can be fun too. (affiliate links used in this post)
