Pin Away Wednesdays: Patriotic Decor

Welcome back to my Pin Away Wednesdays series! Since Memorial Day is this weekend and summer is upon us, I thought it would be a great time to share highlights from my Patriotic Decor Pinterest board. I absolutely love using patriotic touches around our home inside and out from Memorial Day through Labor Day. It is so easy to create patriotic style inexpensively too!  I am always pinning ideas for patriotic decor, crafts, tablescapes and more. Here are some highlights from the board. Pin away!

Country Folk Keepsakes

To me, nothing kicks off summer like displaying “Old Glory” on the porch! Whether the red, white and blue is flying over Memorial Day weekend in rememberance of those who served, or waving proudly to honor our freedoms while celebrating the Fourth of July, or signifying the end of summer in patriotic style for Labor Day, our grand old flag can add charm to any porch or yard all summer long!

Displaying festive patriotic buntings during the summer is one of my favorite ways to show patriotic pride.

Using American Flag pillows or simply using red, white or blue textiles is another easy way to decorate in patriotic style for summer.

Home Is Where The Boat Is

Mini-flags are super inexpensive and look great no matter where they are displayed. They look so cute in jars, ironstone pitchers, flower arrangements, galvanized watering cans, buckets and bins.

Upcyle Vintage Chair Spindles Into Farmhouse American Flags

Last year I upcyled some vintage chair spindles into cute farmhouse style American flags. They turned out so cute!

Homemade In Heaven

Planting red, white and blue flowers in red, white, and blue buckets is such a cute idea!

Blue and red transferware looks beautiful on display for summer and so summery in garden vignettes.

Red or blue ticking stripe or even red and white or blue and white checked fabrics are great choices for textiles too.

This gorgeous room by Debra at Common Ground screams “vintage summer!” I love every little detail!

House of Hawthornes

I am always keeping my eye out for red, white and blue vintage items or vintage Americana like these tins and kitchen wares while I am out junkin’!

There are some rules and etiquette for displaying the flag properly, but you can use flag patterned material or buntings on wreaths, windows, craft projects, etc. to get the same look. I love the idea of displaying a flag or (faux flag) in a tobacco basket. I have a huge tobacco basket on my patio that is empty, so I just might do this for summer!

Patriotic decor looks great in any home, but I really think it looks awesome in farmhouse style or cottage style spaces.

I also love all of the adorable DIY American garlands, buntings and wreaths I have found on Pinterest. I have a few on my “to-make” list for summer.
