Paris is a city that I fall more in love with every time I visit. The architecture is some of the best in the world, the history is long and rich, and the pastries are to die for. It is the type of city that you can never get tired of, and there’s always something new to see. I thought that the last time I went to Pairs I had seen the majority of the city and all of its beauty, but I was so wrong! Paris is a huge city and there is always a new area to explore or a beautiful old building to learn about.
Since there is just so much to do while you’re there, it’s best to go in with a list of the top things you’d like to see and experience to guide your visit. Of course, while traveling to one of these things on my list you may stumble upon some other things that amaze you & that’s the beauty of exploring!
If you’d like to experience more of France than just Pairs, then check out The 7 Best Day Trips From Paris!
This list includes all of the major things that you must see and do while visiting Paris. I have been to Paris 3 times now, and although some of the things on the list are quite ‘touristy’, this does not take away from the astonishing beauty of the locations.
If you are heading to Paris for a few days, try following a Paris itinerary to guide your visit. If you just want a list of things to do, then keep reading and let’s get into it!

Top 10 Things to do in Paris
1. French Breakfast
Getting a french breakfast while in Paris is a must! In the morning this is what everyone gets to eat. It consists of a coffee, a croissant, french bread, and fresh juice (usually for around €9.50). It’s a really nice way to immerse yourself in the French culture & most french cafes have really cute patios so you can people-watch while you eat.
2. Explore Notre Dame
Since the fire, Notre Dame is not open to the public, but the area surrounding it is full of beautiful streets and cafes. Walking around this area and seeing Notre Dame from a distance is still a very nice thing to do!
3. Eiffel Tower
I know this is a super touristy one, but every-time I see the Eiffel Tower I am blown away! I love to make a quick visit to it when I’m in Paris as it is an amazing structure.
4. Opera Area
This is a new find for me in Paris. It is a super nice area on the Northside of the Seine river. It has so many cute shops, restaurants, and streets that are really nice to explore. This is where my hotel was for this trip and the area felt very safe (which is a must for me)
5. French Pastries
I’m not the biggest fan of French food, but the desserts … that’s a different story. The pastries here are on a whole other level! I suggest you get one after every meal.
6. Palais Royal
This is a cool little find right near the Louvre. Not only is it full of history but it has this artwork built into it, which is very cool.
7. Jardin du Palais Royal
Right in the Palais is also a beautiful garden fit for royalty! It looks like its straight from High Garden from Game of Thrones.
8. Les Halles
While visiting Paris I stumbled upon this place by accident. Its a cute little park surrounded by beautiful buildings. A nice little escape from the busy city center.
9. Garden Luxembourg
This is more in the South of the city, but its a very nice garden and royal house hidden into the city. It is super relaxing and not very busy!
10. Arc Du Triomphe
Yes, another tourist spot, but nonetheless, it is amazing! The sheer size of the arc blows my mind and its something to appreciate.
